Signed, Sealed, Delivered: One Farm

That's right, the ink is on the dotted line.  The closing is closed, the authorization is authorized.  Flying Solo Farm is owned by me, with deep gratitude for the help from the mom.  Well, really by the bank, but they let me put my name on it.

FLYING SOLO FARM IS OWNED BY ME.

Just trying it on for size...

The gravel guy's number is on my phone so he can put down a base on the driveway.  Then, when the building permit is printed, all the trucks can begin rumbling back there:  well driller, backhoe for septic tank, crane for house situating.  Me for spying and obsessing and stalking.

Oh yeah, and I had to learn to drive one of these (thanks for the lesson, Brian!), because my little riding mower ain't gonna cut it:

Ah found mah bukket!!

  1. Oh, that front-end loader will do so many things for you. Hang on to that! Congrats on the closing, and NOW the fun starts! Bringing the horses in is another wonderful day.

  5. So excited for you, Solo and Encore! It's like a dream: your own land, own fences, own freaking blades of grass. Getting to make all the decisions! Being able to be around your horses every day. Man. So happy for you!

  6. Congratulations x 1000!! SO happy for you and the boys.

Severe tractor envy here - although I prefer the orange flavor. The one I borrow is soooo rusty... (I'm sure you're aware, the chores will never ever all be done now) ;D

  7. PS - is that a tobacco field in the background?

  8. It is a tobacco field, it's harvesting time here. And CFS, that tractor is not owned by me, just by my tractor teacher, haha. I will be borrowing BFF's tractor, which is Ford blue. :D

  11. Boo-yah, Tractor-Drivin' Woman! :-)

We are all terribly excited for you and want lots of photos detailing the progress of FSF (LOVE the name, but then, you knew it was perfect).

When you are ready to look into purchasing farm equipment, please allow me to recommend a couple of sources of good advice:
    www.Tractorbynet.com Forums
    COTH "Around the Farm" Forum

You probably already know about the second but might not know the first. Good, knowledgeable folks there - they're just very biased towards a particular brand, just like pickup trucks, LOL!

(P.S. If you decide you want a manure spreader, please let me know...)
