The Solo-Cam Returns: Cross Country In Virginia

Here it is, then, the trip around Virginia's spring Training Level cross country course. In all its glory bumpiness. I sat too much, obviously. And you are free to laugh when my legs get too pooped to function at the end as Solo says, "Ya know, I'm kinda tired and this place is hilly, do I HAVE to jump those dodgy-looking things?" But we made it through the finish flags and hopefully we did not make anyone's eyes bleed. I get all hot and tired again just watching it, it was about 90 degrees...

  3. OMG - found your blog today on the Eventing Nation homepage. You have inspired me to start my own lol!

I am 41 years old and have a rescued OTTB (he is famous - see his UNBELIEVABLE - from FHI to slaughter!!! thread on COTH eventing forums). He will never event - got the kebash put on that last week after a 3rd vet exam - he has pretty much fused his right front fetlock; but damn if I did not have my "one day in the sun" doing an "eventing naturally" clinic in April with my trainer at Full Gallop Farm in Aiken, SC.

I will bide my time until I can afford a second horse to event with. Wilson and I will rehab and go on to do some wonderful dressage I hope.

I will be following your blog now! I grew up similar to you lol! Begging every ride I could get with my 4H pals down the road and then actually purchasing my very own first horse at the ripe old age of 30!

I survived her tragic passing back in 2005 and Wilson has come into my life!

    Anyway - carry on!!

  5. Welcome, Lori and congrats on your great rescue! Lucky Wilson!!! I have second horse dreams too -- let me know if you find out where the money tree goes!

Frizz, it feels really long when you can't get oxygen to your lungs anymore!

  7. So COOOL! I'm jealous. He did get tired there at the end didn't he. And it looked like he hit a big stride between 11 and 12, just flying. Congrats to both of you!

  8. Haha, yes, we got to the flat top of the hill in the back and I asked for a bit more gallop, hence the branch ducking!

  11. Holy cow, just watching that made me tired! That was a loooooooooooong course... I know you both got tired, but I think I would only have made it over about three fences before gasping for mercy. You did a super job and since Mr. Shiny Pants still had his ears pricked at the end, I think he had a good time, too. Go Eventing!
